India warns Russia against ‘nuclear option’

Rajnath Singh reaffirmed India’s position on the need for dialogue and diplomacy “for the speedy resolution of the conflict.”

Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, in a telephone conversation with the head of the Defense Ministry of the aggressor country of Russia, Sergei Shoigu, said that “it is unacceptable to resort to the nuclear option.” This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of India on Wednesday, October 26.

The Indian ministry clarified that the conversation took place on the initiative of Shoigu and the Russian Defense Minister announced the allegedly possible use of a “dirty bomb” by Ukraine.

Rajnath Singh reaffirmed India’s position on the need for dialogue and diplomacy “for the speedy resolution of the conflict.”

He stressed that “neither side should resort to the nuclear option, since the prospect of using nuclear or radiological weapons is contrary to the basic principles of humanity.”

Earlier on Wednesday, it became known about Shoigu’s talks with the defense ministers of India and China. Moscow voiced its version of the negotiations.

Recall that on October 23, Shoigu, during telephone conversations with colleagues from France and Turkey, announced the impending “provocations” of Ukraine using a “dirty bomb”.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba responded by saying that Ukraine does not have the “dirty bomb” that Russia claims.
