Two girls from Tripura rescued from clutches of traffickers in Haryana, probe on


Two girls hailing from Tripura were rescued by a joint team of Tripura and Haryana police from the clutches of traffickers.

On June 29, the two girls were allegedly sold off to two men from Haryana by a youth, who has been identified as Jiten.

Reportedly, one of the girls was allegedly dating the accused and he had promised to marry her. The accused had asked the girl to come to Haryana so that the two could get married. The other girl had approached the accused for a job.

After the girls went missing, the family had filed a complaint at the

Gandacherra police station in Tripura.

The girls were reunited with their families on Friday.

A search operation has been launched by the police to find the accused. No arrest has been made yet.
