Vice-President of the Tripura Congress, Pijush Biswas, said on Thursday that they would not attend the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) meeting of union home minister Amit Shah.
Informing of the Tripura Congress resolution, Biswas said that they only received an invitation from the home ministry to the meeting on Thursday at 4 p.m.
Biswas said, “The union home ministry has intentionally sent the letter at the last moment. The meeting will be held tomorrow and they sent the invitation letter just a day before the meeting.”
The Tripura Congress leader also said, “It is not possible for us to go to Delhi tomorrow to attend the meeting.”
He said Tripura Congress has condemned such kind of invitation.
The Ministry of Union Home has invited the Tripura Congress to attend a meeting with home minister Amit Shah to discuss the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) before sending it to Parliament.
The meeting will be held in New Delhi on November 19, Biswas said on Thursday night.
Biswas claimed the central government didn't want to hear anything from any corner, and that's why they sent the letter of invitation "so late."
