Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Golay chaired a meeting with members of the old settlers, Sikkim's business community and the Chamber of Commerce chairman, Sikkim.
Sikkim's old settlers and business community asked the chief minister to discuss their related pending demands during the meeting.
After a patient hearing, the chief minister assured them that, unlike in the previous government where their demands were held languishing, the new SKM government will provide all support and cooperation, and their problems will be addressed one by one without further delay.
The chief minister also said that a high-level delegation of his Cabinet ministers and the old settlers ' representatives would visit New Delhi in January.
They will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Minister of Union Home Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to discuss and resolve the relevant demands of Sikkim's old settlers and business community.
During the meeting, the members of the old settlers also expressed their heartfelt gratitude for his cooperation and support to the chief minister.
The meeting also had the presence of tourism minister B S Panth and CMO secretary S D Dhakal.
