The two separatist leaders who announced the launch of the so-called' Manipur government-in-exile' in London are booked and an NIA investigation against them will be recommended, CM N Biren Singh said on Wednesday. Addressing a press briefing, the Manipur CM said a case against Yambem Biren and Narengbam Samarjit Singh has been registered at the Imphal police station. On Tuesday, the two leaders said they represented Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba's titular king. On Wednesday, however, Sanajaoba said he had nothing to do with the duo's announcement.
Singh told the media that officials were ordered to hand over the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and N Samarjit Singh's and Salai Holdings Private Limited's affairs will be thoroughly investigated. The owner of Salai Holdings Private Limited is N Samarjit Singh. Speaking at a press conference in London on Tuesday, Yamben Biren claimed to be the' State Council Chief Minister' and Narengbam Samarjit claimed to be the' State Council Minister of External Affairs and Defense.'
The duo said they spoke on behalf of Manipur's' Maharaja' to formally launch the exile government,' The Manipur State Council.' Sanajaoba, speaking here at the palace to a media section on Wednesday, said he was not linked to the announcement made by the leaders claiming to be his state separation members. Meanwhile, E Brojendro, Salai Holdings Pvt Ltd's vice president, told media that Samarjit was removed from the director's post.
