Members of the Nagaland Assembly's Joint Legislators ' Forum (JLF) and two of the state parliament appealed to the citizens of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur to extend all possible cooperation in the resolution of the vexed Naga insurgency to ensure peace and stability in the region.
The appeal comes after Manipur experienced mass protests triggered by concerns that the territorial integrity of Manipur might be threatened by an agreement with Naga insurgent groups.
“We appeal to our neighbouring states to build trust and confidence within us so that we can live peacefully under an environment of mutual co-existence and cooperation,” the JLF resolved at a consultative meeting held here on Wednesday.
