Union Home Minister Amit Shah has invited the Tripura royal scion, Pradyot Manikya Deb Barman and the state's indigenous organizations to discuss issues related to the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) to seek their views on the bill before re-establishing it in the House.
Confirming this, Tripura royal scion, Pradyot Manikya Deb Barman, declared on Wednesday that he will meet Shah in New Delhi on November 29 and 30 together with leaders of indigenous groups, lawyers and prominent state tribal leaders to express their views and resentment about the bill in its present form.
Reiterating his stand, Deb Barman said, “We will not accept the CAB in its present form; our voice and opinions matter which is why the home minister has invited us to spell out our reasons for non-acceptance of the bill. The home ministry should listen to our voice before even considering to place the bill in the house.”
