The controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill will be one of the 27 new bills that the Center is preparing to introduce in Parliament's winter session starting Monday (November 18).
Parliament's winter session lasts until December 13.
Parliament has been told by the government of its intention to implement in Parliament the proposed legislation.
Many top BJP leaders, including home minister Amit Shah, have repeatedly said they want to provide non-Muslims from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan with citizenship by implementing CAB.
In case of violations, the Bill will also have provisions to cancel the registration of the Indian Overseas Citizen card.
However, the Bill has faced a lot of opposition, with several civic body organizations vehemently staging protests against it, particularly in the northeast.
