The stage is set for bypolls in two Assembly voting demographics – 14 Southern Angami-I (ST) and 60 Pungro-Kiphire (ST) – in Nagaland on Tuesday in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic circumstance.
The Southern Angami-I voting demographic fell empty after the passing of previous Nagaland Assembly Speaker Vikho-o Yhoshü on December 30 while the byelection to Pungro-Kiphire voting public was required after the demise of NPF administrator T Torechu on December 16 a year ago.
Eight competitors are in the quarrel – three in Souther Angami voting public and five in Pungro-Kiphire supporters – for the two bypolls.
