The newly formed political party of Assam's three hill districts, All Party Hill Leaders Conference (APHLC), split into two factions in a massive political change in Karbi Anglong–the party led by its President J.I Kathar and the other led by its Secretary-General Jona Terang.
During a press conference held here at Karbi Anglong's District Press Club on Monday, Secretary-General Jona Terang said the reason for splitting her party was due to the party members ' disagreement since the last parliamentary election and until today all the work is done by J.I Kathar has never been discussed in the executive session.
He alleged that Kathar took all the decisions alone which “was totally wrong to the party.”
“In every public meeting, J.I Kathar used to criticize all the leaders of Karbi Anglong alleging that none are leading the people in a right path”, said Terang.
He further alleged that Kathar himself is violating the sections of the Sixth schedule. “Whatever he does, he is doing it for his own benefit,” alleged General Secretary Jona Terang.
Terang informed that Hemari Rongpi has been appointed as the new President of the party.
