In the second such case in seven days' time, 100 containers of pirated unfamiliar cigarettes, esteemed at Rs 1.30 crore, were seized by Assam Rifles in Mizoram's outskirt Champhai region, authorities said on Monday.
An Assam Rifles official said that following up on a hint, troopers of the central paramilitary power's 23 Sector attacked a few houses and shoddy structures at Zokhawthar region in Champhai late on Sunday evening and recouped the cigarettes, snuck from neighbouring Myanmar.
An Assam Rifles discharge said that an inhabitant of Aizawl was kept in the activity and the contraband and the prisoner were given over to Custom Preventive Force for additional examinations and indictment.
In any case, no capture has been made up until now.
