Assam: Akshay Kumar extends his support to donate Rs 2 crore for the Flood Victims


With an excessive hike of water level, 15 people have been killed in floods and landslides, over 46 lakh have been affected in the Assam flood while 24 deaths have been also reported from north Bihar.

The Bollywood star, Akshay Kumar has come forward to help the affected victims. The Bollywood start will donate Rs 1 crore each to CM relief fund and Kaziranga Park rescue. He tweeted, "Absolutely heartbreaking to know about the devastation by floods in Assam. All affected, humans or animals, deserve support in this hour of crisis. I’d like to donate 1cr each to the CM Relief Fund & for Kaziranga Park rescue”. He also urges everyone to contribute to the cause.

 

 

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority announced that over 4,175 villages and 46.28 lakh people have been affected due to the floods as of 15th July afternoon, while close to 90,000 hectare of agricultural land turned to a swamp.

The last report of Tuesday claimed that the flood-affected around 55 lives in the two states of Assam and Bihar. Similarly, such incidents claimed to soar 14 lives in Uttar Pradesh.
