A mini-marathon competition was held in Dibrugarh on Thursday with the goal of promoting sports among students.
The completion took place under the aegis of the Department of State Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam with the help of the Dibrugarh District Administration.
On Thursday, Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan from Chowkidinghee flagged off the mini-marathon.
Lahoal MLA Rituparna Baruah, deputy commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha, Sanjoy Dutta district development commissioner, and Dhrubajyoti Deka district sports officer attended the flagging off ceremony.
MLA Prasanta Phukan previously encouraged people to start running as a sport and a hobby and live a healthy life.
The Mini Marathon started via Thana Chariali, Khalihamari, Naliapool, and Graham Baazar from Chowkidinghee to Phoolbagan and ended at Chowkidinghee.
The competition took place under the age of 17 in the 12 km class of boys and girls, where a total of 100 boys and girls participated.
Prizes are awarded in the presence of the guests to the winners in both categories during the final meeting.
Dibrugarh District Sports Association, District Judo Association, Dibrugarh District Karate Do Association, and Upper Assam Shuttlers Academy, Dibrugarh also sponsored the case.
