Rishi Kapoor (Born-4Sep1952, Death-30Apr2020)
Rishi Kapoor or Chintuji as commonly known in the Bollywood film industry was born in the first Hindi cinema family of India. He was loved by everyone from his good looks to his versatile acting in the silver screen. He was a gentleman by heart and had a very long innings in his career.
He made his debut as a child actor in the movie Mera naam Joker(1970) as a child artist which had fetched him a National Film Award, produced and directed by his father Raj Kapoor. He had gained an immense fan following his solo hit Bobby(1973) and followed by unforgettable roles in Khel Khel Main(1975), Rafoo chakkar(1975), Amar Akbar Anthony(1977), Sargam(1979), Karz(1980), Naseeb(1981), Prem rog(1982), Coolie(1983), Saagar(1985) and Nagina(1986).
Who can ever forget the incarnation revenge drama portrayed by him in the movie Karz and the soul stirring tunes of the moments or as the daflii wale in the movie Sargam. He was the only actor who looked so beautiful as a girl in the movie Rafoo Chakkar. He was on a zone of his own as an actor who is not affected by the failures of the box offices of his movies. He had moved on from being a romantic lead in movies like Chandni(1989), Deewane(1992), Bol Radha Bol(1992) into a self hiatus retirement to return back strongly to supporting character roles which required immense intense acting. He had shown the other side of him in movies like Agneepath(2012), Aurangzeb(2013), D-Day(2013) and Mulk(2018).
He was undergoing medical treatment in New York from the last two years with Cancer. He has died in a hospital in Mumbai due to Leukaemia at the age of 67. He will always be remember not just for his histrionics but also for being an outspoken and lovable gentleman.Thanks for entertaining us all and you will be missed.
