Brahmins of Assam are angry on Zubeen: Case filed against Zubeen



The eccentric singer Zubeen Garg has again landed in another controversial court case when he stated “These Brahmins should be killed” in one cultural event held in (Guwahati Medical College and Hospital) GMCH, Guwahati on 30th July.

The event took place in the auditorium of GMCH as per the resources quoted by Hindustan Times he said “I am Brahmin, but I have snapped my ‘lagun’ (a sacred thread worn by Brahmins). The singer is unfazed and iterated that “Brahmins are bad people and they are selfish. I am myself Brahmin but I am ashamed to be Brahmin”.

The complaint is lodged by Rajiv Barbora and Manoj Bhagawati, president and secretary respectively of Jorhat branch of the council stated that Zubeen Garg has expressed his intent to harm the Brahmin community and that proper action must be taken against him. Mr. Ganesh Sharma, Secretary of Asom Brahman Samaj said “He is a drunkard and has always been into controversial. But this time he hurt our sentiments. He may not accept the Brahmins and may not like them but he cannot humiliate us”.
