The governing body of the Phukan Memorial College in Dalu in West Garo Hills (WGH) met with the chief minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma, and submitted a memorandum on Friday seeking to upgrade the college to the government deficit program. The team includes — the principal, among others, Dimseng K Marak, the secretary of school, GA Sangma.
The meeting took place from a 4-day trip to Bangladesh in the backdrop of the CM's return.
PMC was one of the Dalu region's leading institutes and serves a large number of locals from and around the Dalu region. For quite some time now, the college has been looking for an upgrade to be able to better cater to students who are unable to go to places like Tura for further studies for financial reasons or otherwise.
