Expressing concern over the D.El.Ed examination, a delegation of teachers from the Zekabari D.El.Ed centre had met Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday.
Reportedly, the delegation of teachers visited the chief minister after the teachers who had appeared for the D.El.Ed examination was not given marks in one subject.
The delegation further submitted a memo to the CM requesting him to look into the matter and help in resolving it. The meeting was held yesterday at Tura in WGH.
“We enclosed a copy of our exam day attendance for the subject code 507. They relate to the subject of ‘community and elementary education’ and the marks were found to be absent in the mark sheets,” said the teachers.
The delegation was assured by the CM of the matter being looked into at the earliest. A copy of the same memo was also provided to the Tura MP, Agatha Sangma, in the hope that the MP would take up the issue with the MHRD and seek immediate ratification.
The exam for the subject was held on Dec 21 in 2018.
“We approached the concerned authorities on D.El.Ed and informed them on the goof up. They stated that it was a mistake made by NIOS while giving us a verbal assurance that the ratification would be done within a month. It has been more than 8 months and yet nothing has been done to rectify our problem. This has happened to only the Zekabari centre as all other centres have got their mark sheets in proper order,” added the teachers.
