Glory of Medals: Proud Moment for Assam


National School Games have always been great opportunities for motivation and inspiration. Taking part in such sporting competitions bring out the competitive spirit of the youth and create great teams. And, every year, the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) organizes National School Games to promote active participation and good health among students in the U-17 and U-19 category.

With the aim of encouraging maximum participation and promoting health and the passionate competition, the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) organized “The 65th National School Games, Wu-shu” for Under 17 groups of boys & girls, which was held at Ranchi, Jharkhand. 2019

Wu-Shu, essentially a Chinese kung fu, incorporated with punches, kicks, jumps, sweeps, and throws and has seen a phenomenal rise in the north and northeast of India, which can also be noticed in this recent event.

Assam’s Khudra Panging was the one who claimed the first gold medal in the boy’s San Shou category, where three bronze medals in this category were won by Amit Tamang, Mithisar Basumatary and Raju Brahma. However, in the girl’s San Shou category, Chisilia Musahary bagged silver, and Parinita Daimary collected a bronze medal in this event.

These six students of Assam brought glory to the State with their outstanding performance in Wushu.
