Assam: 4 minor boys drown, 8 rescued from Brahmaputra River


In a tragic incident, four minor boys drowned in the river Brahmaputra at Assam’s Sunsali area on Sunday, while eight others were rescued, police said.

The incident took place when the four minor boys aged 12 to 14 had gone for swimming in a group in the river, they said.

While the remaining eight were safely rescued by the SDRF and river police team, a police officer said.

All of them hailed from Nijorapar area of the city, he added.
