Assam police detains Mumbai-based builder on assault case


Assam police detained a Mumbai-based builder Sameer Bhojwani on charges of attempt to murder case.

Sources said that on Tuesday, a team of Assam officials arrived at Mumbai police station seeking help to arrest Bhojwani.

An official of Mumbai PS said that the police from Assam had an arrest warrant from the state court and they got Bhojwani to the police station and are making a station dairy.

Bhojwani was earlier arrested in connection with a property dispute with actor Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Banu. He was accused of forging documents of the star couple’s Rs 250-crore bungalow in Pali Hill and registering it in someone else’s name.

Sources said that the case in Assam pertains to a plot in Malvani. Three months ago, a man connected, with the land, had gone to his native place in Assam and was assaulted by three persons. He provided the cops with names of three persons, all residents of Mumbai

The Assam police arrested the trio, who named Bhojwani during interrogation. Bhojwani is likely to be produced before an Assam court on Wednesday.
