Assam is all prepped up to host the first-ever Bamboo Industrial Park in the North East. The location will be in the Manderdisa region in Assam’s Dima Hasao district.
Union minister of state for the development of the north eastern region, Jitendra Singh twitted to announce that this project will be built in an area of 75 hectares at a total cost of 50 crores. The in-principle approval will be granted to this project in August this year.
The project is set to be completed by March 2021. Further, the central government also plans to set up another project for Bamboo Park in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh which would be taken up by the northeastern council (NEC).
The minister tweeted: “First 100 days DoNER: First-ever Bamboo Industrial Park in #Northeast, in Dima Hasao district of Assam. This unique project will be a part of the 'first 100 days agenda' of the Modi Government 2.0 and will come up in an area of 75 hectares, at a cost of Rs.50 crore.”
