The splendid Ziro Music Festival, Arunachal Pradesh, starts tomorrow. The four-day extravaganza will consist of a plethora of musical journeys, adventures, food, and of course forever loved: camping.
28 music acts, food and adventure activities like the Apatani Village walk, the organic green hikes, cycling and camping and many more if you are an explorer, surely makes one cannot miss it.
Hire a taxi from Guwahati or Jorhat (approx 470 Km). It will take 7 hours for you to reach via NH27 & NH15 (the road conditions are pretty good). Government buses are also available from the same. There are government-run buses from Itanagar to Ziro for a reasonable cost between INR 100 – INR 200.
Likabali and Tezpur are the closest airport but unreliable when it comes to the flight schedule. Hence, it is preferred that you fly to Guwahati Airport (450 km) and then travel to Ziro via its various transport options available.
The closest railhead is Naharlagun and is about 3 hours away from Ziro. One can board an overnight (about 3 hours away from Ziro). One can board an overnight train from Guwahati to Naharlagun.
Ziro is a serene valley in the laps of the Himalayan Foothills of Arunachal Pradesh and the home to a music festival that ties humans from all over the country and beyond with music and nature’s nourishment. A festival that brings under one roof some of the best musical talents of India to a diverse audience hungry for some cool original music.
The festival is supported by Arunachal Pradesh Tourism, Ministry of DoNER, Air India, and Doordarshan amongst others.
